One of my favorite Ogden restaurants that I recommend to everyone is Slackwater Pub and Pizzeria. Slackwater is located in downtown Ogden on Washington BLVD next to Bingham Cyclery and adjacent to the Ogden River.
The restaurant features a variety of unique pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. During my last visit I had the Buffalo Chicken Calzone Sandwich and thought it was delicious. My friend ordered the massive Cobb Webb Salad which also looked tasty.
Slackwater also has a nice assortment of locally brewed beers. My favorite is the Captain Bastard’s Oatmeal Stout from Squatters. While I’m generally not a big fan of dark beers, this oatmeal stout has become one of my favorite local beers.
The environment at Slackwater is also unique. With it’s location right along the Ogden River Parkway, it’s common to see several bikers stop in for a meal or beer. The architecture of the building features several overhead doors that keep the place cool, bright, and open throughout the summer months. There is also a large outdoor patio adjacent to the river which is very nice for dining outside.
Check out Slackwater Pub and Pizzeria next time you’re in Downtown Ogden. It’s a personal favorite and the food is superb!
