I had dinner at the Blu Pig during my Moab camping trip this past weekend. Blu Pig is one of Moab’s newer restaurants, offering a unique BBQ menu in a “blue” dim-lit environment and featuring some of the best blues music.
My entrée of choice was the Slider Sampler with a side of fried okra and a cup of gumbo. The Slider Sampler featured three small sandwiches (tri-tip, pulled pork, and smoke turkey). My friends opted for the pulled pork salads, which were in my opinion a bit too pricey. The drink menu was also a bit too pricey ($13 for a margarita.) So we all ended up just ordering water.
The waitress was fun but was also a bit pushy in terms of getting us to order more. While I do appreciate a good salesperson, I felt like she went a bit too far in trying to force appetizers and desserts on us.
Blu Pig was a fun place with good food and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Moab. Just keep in mind that it is a bit spendy for what you get, but definitely a fun place.
