A new theory on why Utah has such a high suicide rate.
The strongest love is the love that can demonstrate its fragility.
– Paulo Coelho
Today I am prompted to recite the first poem that comes to mind. For some reason I immediately think back to the Poem “Desire” by Rumi. A few years back I wrote this essay on the poem during a very difficult time in my life. Why it comes back to me now, I’m not exactly sure. Perhaps it’s just my everlasting and strange obsession with love.
Tomorrow is election day. I’d go out and vote but I haven’t a clue who in Utah is worth voting for.
If I were to take something in my life that usually zooms by and slow it down, what would it be? The most relevant answer for now is the weekend.
While I appreciate my Monday – Friday routine, it is very much a routine. As a result I very much look forward to Saturday and Sunday as they are the only days I have the freedom to be sporadic, social, and at times, anti-social.
It is unfortunate that these weekends tend to fly by so quickly; but perhaps this is why I cherish them so much.
